Prof. Dr. Pamela Taylor

Pamela Taylor CBE, FRCPsych, FMedSci, is a professor of forensic psychiatry at Cardiff University, in Wales. Recent research has included prisoner health and relationships between violence and psychosis. She has held various clinical and managerial posts across forensic mental health services, and run outpatient services for survivors of trauma, including miscarriages of justice.  She is a past Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Forensic Psychiatry Faculty Chair and continues in various College roles. With John Gunn, she co-edited the standard British textbook: Forensic Psychiatry – Clinical, Legal and Ethical issues. She is editor-in-chief of Criminal Behaviour and Mental Health, member of Council for the Howard League for Penal Reform and co-chair of the research charity Crime in Mind.
