Prof. Dr. Jan Oyebode

Jan Oyebode is Professor of Dementia Care, Centre for Applied Dementia Studies, University of Bradford. She spent her earlier career in the UK National Health Service, as a clinical psychologist with older people, became Director of the Clinical Psychology Doctorate at the University of Birmingham and took up the Chair in Dementia Care at University of Bradford in 2013. Her research interests focus on understanding and support for family relationships in dementia, including how the impact of dementia and ways of coping with it are influenced by diversity, including culture, type of dementia, and age of onset. Current studies relate to improving services for people living with young onset dementia and Jan is also Deputy Director of the Policy Research Unit, Dementia and Neurodegeneration: University of Exeter.
