Prof. Univ. Dr. Adela Magdalena Ciobanu is a President of Association of Free Psychiatrists of Romania and Head of 1 st Discipline of Psychiatry at “Prof. Al.Obregia” Hospital, Neuroscience Department, and Head of 9 th Clinical Department at “Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia” Clinical Hospital of Psychiatry, from Bucharest.

She was Medical Director of Clinical Psychiatric Hospital “Prof. Dr. Alexandru Obregia” (June 2014 - June 2017), research project manager, member of multiple research teams in national and international projects, founding member and ex Vice-President of the Romanian Society of Biological Psychiatry, member of the Romanian Association of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy. Professor Ciobanu was an expert in evaluation of guides and procedures within currently active project through National Mental Health center and drug-use fighting: “Development of professional abilities for the medical staff involved in screening of affective disorders and prevention of suicidal behaviour.”

She received numerous national and international awards and distinctions, such as: “Constantin Rădulescu – Motru” prize on behalf of the Romanian Academy for the paper: Depression Disorder, volume I, 2015, and also many awards within Research Results Awarding – Articles in Competition of Ministry of National Education and Research – Human Resources Department.

The best poster award by the World Psychiatric Association, poster named “Value of Depression, Remission and Diabetes Control and Quality of Life” at WPA 2013 Bucharest Congress, “Primary Care, Mental Health and Public Health Integration: the Catalytic Role of Information and Communication Technology”.
