Professor Anne M. Doherty

Anne is Head of the Subject of Psychiatry at University College Dublin, Consultant Liaison Psychiatrist at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital. She previously held substantive posts at Galway University Hospitals and King's College Hospital, London, where she led the award-winning 3 Dimensions of Care for Diabetes service (3DFD).  Her research focusses on the interface between mental and physical health, especially around serious self-harm (the area of her doctoral research) and also cancer and diabetes. She is Editor-in-Chief of the Irish Journal of Psychological Medicine, and, as Chair of the Faculty of Liaison Psychiatry at the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland, she led the development of a national Model of Care for Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry.
